Journal Entry: From Italy...from Liza and Kristen (08/20/2005)
Boun Giorgno!
Well, its back to Italia for the end of the season racing for us! Ready or not we're jumping in. We travel to France for a 5 day race starting next week, until then we are training and adapting to the culture. I am reacquainting with the language and my legs in the hills here. Our travels over the pond were easy and non- eventful. However, I have been eaten alive by misquitos (zanzar) the first night- mostly on my face! Each day we have done our training with a group from the bike shop, heading towards a village and down some wonderful descent!
Luckily, with a few hours on the bike we can enjoy a healthy meal in the evening.
However, last night we spent over an hour waiting for our Gnocchi to finally cook. The evening before my friend gave us a hearty loaf of bread and Gnocchi he made that morning, to take home. We were a little surprised when it was only supposed to take 5min to cook, yet after an hour it was still not completely cooked- oh well we ate it any way, with a little cheese and oil it was diffnitely al' dente pasta! o crude?
